Steel import fall in the USA in September

In September, according to data released by the us department of commerce, the total imports of steel is about 2.516 million tons, fell 9.4%, fell by nearly 29%, falling by more than 15% for five months.

Varieties of points, compared with in August 2015, in addition to cold roll and medium thickness plate, other varieties of steel imports fell, the largest decline is the rebar and hot rolled, fell by 39.8% and 39.8% respectively. Compared with September 2014, and only rebar imports was a slight increase over the same period last year, dropped for other varieties, medium thickness plate and thermal volume decline more than 30%, 38% and 32% respectively.

From the main import source countries and regions, compared with in August 2015, in addition to the imported steel from Russia and the European Union region render rose, imported steel from other areas are decreased, the largest decline is in central and South America and India, more than 20%. Compared with September 2014, outside Japan, the rest of imports also fell, the largest decline is Russia and China, fell by 52.6% and 57.5% respectively.

In September 2015, the United States import steel from China a total of 127000 tons, have plunged, with annulus compared to imports most varieties of cold-rolled, galvanized sheet and wire, hot galvanized sheet imports fell significantly, but cold rolled imports rose.
